"Quit Your Job - Play Guitar" is not just the title of a CD,
but also the way one musician chose to live his dream.

WHY "QUIT YOUR JOB - PLAY GUITAR"? Until 6 years ago, Mark Robinson was a video producer at Indiana University in Bloomington - and one of the very best guitar players in town. But he quit that monkey job and moved to Nashville to live his dream: playing guitar for a living. He played, played, played guitar, wrote songs, ran his own recording studio, produced, went on the road, taught guitar, and began work on Quit Your Job - Play Guitar. It's roots-based blues, soul, americana, rock, r&b - and all Mark Robinson.

Blues Boulevard Records Signs Mark Robinson & Quit Your Job - Play Guitar

Mark Robinson, who quit his job to play guitar in Music City, USA, has signed with Blues Boulevard Records, of the Music Avenue Group of Labels in Europe. Blues Boulevard will be releasing Robinson's new CD, "Quit Your Job - Play Guitar" worldwide, with distribution in more than 20 countries by some of the finest independent distributors around, including Allegro Media Group in the United States. The European release is set for Friday, February 18, 2011, with the U.S. release scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, 2011.

Blues Boulevard President Alfie Falckenbach, after receiving notice from Radio Submit of new blues music available, went online to listen, liked what he heard, and contacted Robinson about coming over to Blues Boulevard.

To Robinson, it looked like a match made in blues heaven: Blues Boulevard's catalog includes classic blues re-issues from masters such as Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Solomon Burke, and Howlin' Wolf, and new acts which represent the future of blues and blues-rock, including Delta Moon and Alvin Jett & The Phat Noiz Blues Band.

A European tour is in the works for late 2011, with a follow-up Mark Robinson CD on the horizon for 2012.

Quit Your Job - Play Guitar was self-produced and put out in September 2010 on Robinson's own Blind Chihuahua label. The reception from the roots and blues world, and now the deal with Blues Boulevard, proved to Mark Robinson that sometimes dreams do come true, and he looks forward to working with Blues Boulevard.
